This is deceptive. Hitting the stop loss is a full loss. However in the majority of your trades when you get to a certain profit level you move stop loss to break even and take off some (usually half) of your profit. From there sometimes you get to the original target and you can bank the rest of your profit. But often the trade will retrace and hit your BE and no additional profit from that trade. So if you are losing more than you win being significantly in profit overall is difficult.

I followed this video up until the end where you give an example of a trade. What do you mean when you say you will spread your $1000 across the 100 pips? Why does 1 lot equal equal $1 in your trading account??? DISCLAIMER: I'm a total beginner at this as I'm sure you can tell :)

I just want to make sure im measuring right on my mt4 platform. You mention 100 pips on the EUR/USD. When I see a hundred I actually think its 10 pips so im hope im doing it right. Can someone please confirm ? Thanks
