Broker and Platform comparison: Interactive Brokers and Tradestation | Forex

Comparison of stock brokers and their platforms for active traders. I've been using both Tradestation and Interactive Brokers for over a year and this is my take on the two of them.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Interactive's server is horrible. You have to click where it says "trade." Launch a program called QuickTrade. It has to load the data before you can make a trade. I have sat here many times watching this thing spin around on my computer, ... forever. It often does not want to load. To make a trade, I often have to call Interactive and of course,... be on hold for an hour. Money is important, when I want to make a trade I need to do it right THEN. Not an hour later.

I like your comparison a lot, but can you update it to today's info? Thank you

you'll be surprised, see the video where my story deals

Hi Howardv,
You mentioned in the video that Interactive Brokers offered free data feeds, do you know if that still applies? And if they're in real-time?
Last thing I read was that one had to subscribe to their feeds to receive real time data... -
is bloomberg good to trade

Interactive broker i am stalled trying to figure out exactly which i should suscribe to. there are lots on IB i understand most here but not all

Hello,
I know the project has been done before, but I was wondering if anyone has done a comparison lately of the brokers with slower data feeds than others that have considerably faster feeds? I wrote quite a nice little EA to play on the differences, but I am just trying to find a few brokers with significant lag between them, and having the spread on the lagging broker to have a very reasonable spread.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as there are a lot of brokers out there....
Thanks! -
Pretty good ...........Where did you learn finance?

If I had to chose between Tradestation and IB, I would definitely go with IB.
Tradestation has poor customer service and expensive monthly fee!!! Only 2 of the reasons why I prefer IB -
Hi, it has been approx. 6 years since this video, how does IB charts compare to the other platforms since then ?
